Dear Counsellor

In your therapy sessions, you face the silent challenge of trauma, as all counsellors do.

It's there in the stories left untold and in the client’s pain that's hard to voice. Understanding and addressing this trauma is key to truly helping your clients. Without the right tools and guidance, it's easy to feel stuck and unsure of how to help a client move forward.

This course offers the knowledge and skills you need to change this. It's about more than just strategies; it's about building safe, trusting relationships where healing can begin. Join us to deepen your understanding and practice, making every session a step toward healing.

Working with trauma is not taught, in any depth, during formal counselling training, yet trauma presents in the therapy room all the time. It is therefore not surprising that many therapists feel they lack key skills and knowledge to effectively support clients who have experienced trauma. This gap in training leads to a lack of confidence, and a fear among counsellors of struggling to know how to proceed, or of missing the signs and complex effects of trauma, both on clients and on themselves.

Without a trauma-informed approach to practice, there's a risk of not fully addressing clients' needs, potentially hindering their healing process. That is why we built this Trauma-Informed Practice Training, which combines in-depth theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical training that you will use in your sessions with clients.

'Prior to the course, when working with clients with trauma, I had a growing awareness
of my limits of proficiency and I knew I needed to take on training to support myself and my clients.

'This course is jam-packed with comprehensive, accessible knowledge, taught by an inspiring,
compassionate and fun tutor. It trains best practices for clients whilst also turning the lens
onto ourselves as practitioners. I have been so inspired by all the learning I've experienced
and I feel so much more confident and empowered as a therapist.'
